Saturday- March 26th

Weight: 136.4 something
Calories: it's the weekend, not counting

Finally, I have emerged from my illness.  Some sort of ridiculous cough/fatigue/headache thing that lasted more than 2 weeks.  I still have my cough, but have energy again and I can return to running.

This happened on Monday; I became a citizen of the U.S of A.

Pretty excited to become a US citizen

I also cut my own hair.  Here is the result.

Do not try this at home.

Whaa, whaa, whaa, whaaaaaaaaa.   So, this afternoon I spent some time with a real hairdresser.

But, here is what is happening in my running journey.

So, heart rate training is going to be slightly complicated by the fact that I signed up with Anna for the Portland Fit Marathon Training program.  So all that scheming has gone by the wayside.  After looking at my plan for the next few weeks, however, I'm still going to use the principles I learned in the heart rate training for this Portland Fit training.  With more than 2 weeks off of running, I need to be sensible how to get back onto my mileage.  I was up to 18 miles for my weekly mileage the week before I became sick, so probably need to be a little bit less than that for this initial week back.

Here are the stats for our first "long run" at Portland Fit.  It was 4 miles.  Here is what we did.

I didn't wear my heart rate monitor, so I didn't really track that.  Despite a bit of coughing, obviously 4 miles was not a long run for us.  That will come on Mondays for now.

Posing while one of my kids took a photo.
